make sure your voice is heard and vote in the local elections

Voting matters.

Voting is more than just participating in our local democracy in Hackney. It is your chance to help shape the way that our borough is governed, and our local services are run in your neighbourhood.

On Thursday 5th May you will be able to vote for who represents you in your local ward but also for the Mayor of Hackney. The elected Mayor leads the Council, the cabinet and the full range of services that the Council provides and sets the agenda for Hackney the next four years.

Clapton Commons has asked the Mayoral candidates about what they would do to change our local neighbourhood if they are elected on 5th May.

You can read statements from Zoë Garbett from the Green Party, Philip Glanville from the Labour Party and Helen Baxter from the Liberal Democrats Party. We have also posted links to the web sites for Oliver Hall from Conservative Party and Gwenton Sloley from the Hackney People before Profit Party.

We encourage you to vote, make sure your voice heard and be a part of changing your neighbourhood.

Please read our extended statement here and see the additional links.
